IHACPA reveals 2026-27 timetable

The independent aged care pricing authority has outlined its priorities for next year, including when it will advise the Government on a new hotelling supplement.
The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) advises the Government on the cost of delivering aged care services, the basis on which the Government sets AN-ACC funding.
IHACPA is reviewing the way everyday living services - also known as the hotelling supplement - are funded in response to a request from the Government.
IHACPA is looking at the different costs associated with delivering everyday living services and how costs can be impacted by factors such as geographic location and resident care needs.
The Government is considering tiering the hotelling supplement, depending on IHACPA's advice, which according to the Work Program, will not be provided until July 2028.
AN-ACC advice
If you're looking for when IHACPA will provide the Government with its 2026-27 pricing advice, you would have to refer to last year's Work Program.
Back then, IHACPA said it would advise the Government in August 2026.
The Government has committed to residential aged care pricing advice being published each August to give operators time to plan their budgets - new AC-ACC pricing takes effect from 1 October.
However, the advice was published in September last year giving operators little time before the new funding year commenced.
