1 min read

Bupa NZ in 2013 had 26 villages and 1,067 village units. It built 252 new units in 2013. They have a significant land bank for future development as well.

The RVA NZ President is Margaret Owens, Director of Retirement Living at Bupa and their Chairman is Bryan Mogridge (pictured), who also sits on the Australian Bupa board. He said at the conference “The (village) model we have in New Zealand is without peer because it is care focussed. In the UK and Australia it is property based” and “Bupa Australia has just got to take on the New Zealand model” (Bupa was originally the British United Provident Association. It was established in 1947 when 17 British provident associations joined together to provide healthcare for the general public. The firm is a private company limited by guarantee; it has no shareholders and reinvests its profits after tax in services to benefit members).

They have five villages in the UK and has 26 in NZ.
