Chas Jacobsen secures 107-site caravan park next to The Village Glen

The village veteran has purchased the neighbouring Sundowner Willows caravan park in Rosebud, 75km southeast of the Melbourne CBD on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Village Glen already has over 600 units and 800 residents on 120 acres. Chief Operations Officer Peter Nilsson tells us there are “a number of options” available in planning the park’s future including the expansion of The Village Glen.

The park will remain a residential park for the next two years with residents’ rent fixed as they decide on an option.

“We had a meeting with all the residents the day after the settlement,” Peter said. “We understand that it is worrying for them, but we are fully aware of our obligation to them under Victoria’s Residential Tenancies Act (Caravan Parks).”

A family-run operator, Village Glen also owns the nearby 224-bed Ti Tree Lodge aged care facility and is building another 92-bed aged care home at Mornington which will open in April. They are also waiting on a planning permit for a 150-bed aged care facility at Baxter.
