Curtin Heritage Living expands WA footprint with acquisition of home care provider Carealot

1 min read

The Perth-based Not For Profit aged care provider has expanded with the acquisition of the family-run home care provider, which has been in operation for nearly 30 years.

Carealot provides home care services, including respite care, personal care, companionship, and travel support, in Perth and Western Australia's Southwest and Great Southern regions.

Curtin Heritage Living CEO David Cox (pictured above) said, "The aged care sector is amid sweeping reforms, with the new Aged Care Act, the Support at Home program, and strengthened Quality Standards reshaping the way services are delivered."

"Smaller providers, like Carealot, face growing pressures making the timing of this partnership both strategic and essential."

Curtin Heritage Living provides home care, residential aged care, and retirement living in Perth. Its home care arm is Shine Community Care, which has been in operation for 40 years and was acquired in late 2021.

David said the acquisition ensures Carealot's clients will have certainty about continued service delivery and will be able to maintain their relationships with existing carers.
