Feros Care leads expansion beyond aged care to NDIS

1 min read

The QLD-based Not For Profit has been announced as the new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Partner for Townsville and Mackay, despite not having any existing services in the region.

From March, the provider will coordinate local area services for an expected 5,300 eligible residents of all ages in Townsville and another 3,100 in Mackay.

It’s a new demographic for Feros – and most aged care operators – while the provider currently runs HACC programs for under-65s in NSW, most of its current clients are over 65.

Its Director of Community Services Gabriele Taylor says they have already recruited 25 staff for the new service, with recruitment for more staff and resources to continue as it rolls out.

Established in 1990 with one nursing home, Feros Care has since expanded to three aged care homes in NSW and is a recognised IT leader and innovator.
