One of aged care’s most influential financial figures has officially stepped down, with Grant Corderoy departing StewartBrown today after a 48-year career.

Grant announced his retirement at the 2026 LEADERS SUMMIT last month, earning a standing ovation from more than 700 attendees in recognition of his contribution to the sector.

His retirement as Senior Partner marks the end of an era. Over decades, Grant played a central role in shaping how the sector understands financial sustainability – and was a consistent advocate for an investable aged care system.

He established StewartBrown’s aged care division in 1990 and launched its Financial Performance Survey in 1995 – now widely used by providers, boards and policymakers as a benchmark for performance.

His influence also extended into national policy through his role on the Aged Care Taskforce and his evidence to the Royal Commission, alongside ongoing advocacy on funding and viability.

Grant will not move into consulting but is expected to remain involved through board and committee roles, as well as occasional writing.
