How many of Australia’s coronavirus cases are in aged care?

1 min read

In Question Time on Monday, Aged Care Minister Senator Richard Colbeck (pictured) said that in total, 10 aged care residents and seven staff members have tested positive to coronavirus across six different homes in NSW, WA and SA – but couldn’t provide numbers on how many residents and staff have been tested.

“I can’t give you a specific number of how many aged care workers have been tested or for that matter how many residents have been tested,” he said.

“Those that have needed a test have received a test.”

The Government had promised aged care staff would be prioritised for testing last Friday – how long will this take to be initiated?
