Lewis Kaplan appointed first-ever Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) CEO

Mr Kaplan will take charge of the newly formed, government funded body which will deliver advocacy services across Australia as part of the National Aged Care Advocacy Program’s new national framework, which is government-funded.

OPAN’s organisations offer free, confidential services to aged care consumers to ensure they understand their rights and participate in decisions relating to their care.

He has extensive experience to draw on, having been the CEO of Diabetes Australia, Red Cross NSW and Alzheimer’s Australia NSW as well as Executive Director of Council on the Ageing NSW.

Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) includes nine state and territory advocacy services under NACAP and employs 57 staff across 21 locations.
