Local investors bankroll $400K solar energy project at Geelong aged care facility

1 min read

In a Victoria-first initiative, more than 500 panels will be installed at the Multicultural Aged Care Services (MACS) complex in North Geelong, cutting the facility’s energy costs by $29,000 in the first year alone.

The State Government has put $140,000 towards the $402,700 venture which is being led by Geelong Sustainability.

However, the project will be mostly funded by locals with around 20 people expected to kick in around $10,000 each.
