As we reported here, Not For Profits Eldercare, Life Care and Southern Cross Care (SA & NT) formed the joint venture – known as Australian Ageing and Wellness Services (AAWS) – to export their expertise to China.

20 employees from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Shandong have now graduated from its ‘Intensive Elderly Care’ course – a year-long education and training program for Chinese managers and staff – which was led by senior nursing and care staff from South Australia.

With over 248 million Chinese people aged over 60 by 2020, AAWS Chief Executive Janet Spouse says the training is designed to ‘fast track’ workers’ knowledge and skills.
