Mercy Health taps St Vincent’s Melbourne boss as new CEO

1 min read

Mercy Health has announced its new Group CEO, Angela Nolan, who will replace long-serving former chief Stephen Cornelissen.

Angela (above), currently CEO of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, will join Mercy on 3 October, bringing what Chair of Mercy Health Virginia Bourke (pictured) described as a “deep understanding of the public health system and Catholic health sector” to the role.

“Mercy Health looks forward to working with her building on our strong tradition of compassionate care in health and aged care, in realising our mission to bring God’s mercy to those in need,”
she said.

According to Angela, she has long admired Mercy Health for its “enduring commitment to humanity through compassionate care”.

“Mercy Health is well positioned as a leader in much-needed reform of the Australian health and aged care sectors and I am very much looking forward to working with the Mercy team to advance this cause for the many communities we serve,” she said.

Stephen Cornelissen left Mercy Health this year for a position at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood after 11 years as CEO.
