Mercy Health’s CEO, Adjunct Professor Stephen Cornelissen (pictured), has officially departed the Not For Profit after 11 years in the role.

Stephen (above), who was named CEO of the Year in 2016, announced his departure from Mercy in February to take up a new position with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood; he has farewelled his Mercy colleagues in a post on LinkedIn.

“I leave with great pride and confidence that the organisation is in 10,000 pairs of capable and caring hands who will build on this most amazing legacy of providing compassionate care to those most in need.

“My heartfelt thanks to every Mercy Health person and to all colleagues from across Government, industry and wider for all you have afforded me, for all you are and for all you will continue to be,” he said.

Mercy Health has made no announcement so far on Stephen’s replacement; the provider has been contacted for comment.
