Bedingfeld Park Frail Aged Care’s Wallace House, a 25-bed memory support unit in Pinjarra, 82km south of Perth’s CBD, has won a major construction award.

Crothers Construction, of Beresford, won the award for the Best Aged Care Building in the $5-$10 million range at the 2021 Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction awards.

The new wing is part of an expansion to the existing 45-bed residential aged care facility on the site and is named after Dr Peter Wallace, in recognition of his 40 years' support of the community-owned Not For Profit organisation.

The new unit was funded by $3.5 million from the Federal Government, $2 million from the Western Australian Government and $1.5 million from Bedingfeld Park.
