Not For Profit hands over WA aged care facilities and village to private operator

The Roshana Group has taken over ownership and management of four Baptistcare WA facilities – Gwen Hardie Lodge and Annie Bryson McKeown Lodge in Albany, and Sunshine Park Residential Care and Sunshine Park Retirement Village in Lesmurdie.

Roshana is the largest private provider in WA to specialise in psychiatry and Mental Health Support Services (MHSS). Before the transfer, they had just one 70-bed aged care facility, while Baptistcare WA has 20 service locations and 14 aged care facilities across Perth and regional WA.

Baptistcare CEO Russell Bricknell said they were handing over the facilities and village with the understanding that Roshana will refurbish and improve their facilities.

“The sale enables Baptistcare to invest in enhancing our existing sites and services to better meet the changing needs of our residents and customers. It will also give Baptistcare the opportunity to consider providing services in new locations,” he said.

All permanent employees at the facilities will also be offered employment as part of the transition.

The sale is expected to go through on 1 November.
