Former Victorian Healthcare Association (VHA) CEO Tom Symondson has officially stepped into the role as Chief Executive Officer of the aged care peak body, Aged and Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA).

Tom took over from interim CEO Paul Sadler on Monday, 26 September, having headed the VHA since 2015.

Announcing Tom’s appointment in July, ACCPA Chair Dr Graeme Blackman said the experienced new CEO would be well placed to tackle the issues confronting aged care.

“Tom comes to ACCPA with a proven track record as a leader and advocate in the public and community health sector in Victoria where he has been Chief Executive Officer of VHA for eight years and their Director, Policy and Strategy for two years before that,” he said.

Paul Sadler, former head of Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA), served as interim CEO of ACCPA following the merger between ACSA and Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) in July this year.
