Regis Aged Care reels in approval for fish factory conversion
Australia’s only ASX-listed residential aged care provider has received approval to transform a former Adelaide fish factory into a five-storey aged care home.
South Australia’s Planning Commission has granted planning consent to Regis Aged Care's proposal to convert the former Cappo Seafood site in Parkside, 4km south of the Adelaide CBD, into a 156-unit supported accommodation aged care home.
Regis acquired the 5,000sqm former Cappo Seafood site for $9.6 million from receivers after the property was seized from bankrupt businessman Aaron Hickmann.
The development will include a café, hair salon, cinema, fitness and activity rooms, and multiple outdoor terraces.

Under the proposal, the 156 units would be split between 20 larger “grand suites” (44-52sqm) and 136 “deluxe units” (24-30sqm).
The development will also include a dedicated 14-room memory support unit, alongside shared living and dining areas, a sensory room, and access to courtyards.
Building consent for the project is still required.
Regis operates residential aged care homes in South Australia at Burnside, Kingswood, Marleston and Playford, and has a national footprint across residential aged care, home care, short-term care, and retirement living.
