Roshana Care Group acquires closed aged care home in regional NSW

1 min read

The private Perth-based aged care operator will reopen Rosedurnate Aged Care, in Parkes, a town 355km west of Sydney, which The Salvation Army closed in 2024.

Roshana Care Group acquired nearby Moyne Aged Care Centre, in Canowindra, 75km east of Parkes, from the Salvation Army last year, agreeing to keep it open.

Settlement on the 70-bed Rosedurnate Aged Care is expected in November. The home will be refurbished before reopening in the first quarter of 2026.

Roshana Care Group CEO Rosh Jalagge told The Weekly SOURCE, "We are rapidly expanding in residential aged care beds at the moment. There's a high demand and we are focusing on regional areas in all Australia."

Parkes Mayor Neil Westcott said in a Facebook post that "considering the shock the community of Parkes felt" when the Salvation Army closed the home, the acquisition was "wonderful news" for the community.

Rapidly expanding Roshana Care Group already operates three aged care homes in NSW's Central West, in Canowindra, Carcoar, and Blayney. They reopened the co-located aged care home in Keyton's Brentwood Village retirement village, in Kincumber, earlier this year after a refurbishment. A 70-bed aged care home in Nobel Park, Melbourne, is set to open early next year.
