The New Zealand-based retirement living and care provider’s new app, myRyman, has taken out the top prize in the Innovation of the Year Residential Care Model category at the 2019 Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards in Singapore.
The app, which took three years to build, is an intuitive digital platform that eliminates paperwork and improves quality of life for residents in aged care – allowing nurses and staff to update a resident’s care records in their room with them, in real time, and removing the need to spend hours at a staff station manually writing notes.
myRyman already runs on tablets in each of Ryman’s 3,500 care rooms.
The app was also a finalist in two other categories at the awards for the best innovations in aged care in the Asia Pacific region. Ryman was the most successful New Zealand company at the awards.
