The country’s largest village operator built 39 projects in some stage of development worth NZ$899.9 million – an average value of $23 million – in the last 12 months according to a new report by construction researchers Pacifecon Building Intelligence.

Ryman currently has nine new villages in the planning in New Zealand as well as nine sites across Victoria.

Check out the chart above – the other listed NZ operators are not far behind.

Summerset ranks fifth with $741 million spread across 37 projects, followed by Metlifecare with $679 million in 25 sites.

Arvida rounds out the top 12 with 14 projects valued at $321 million.

Summerset already set up a Melbourne office last year ahead of a potential Australian expansion. How long before the others also look across the ditch?
