Shane Huici denies alleged rape of 90-year-old resident at Victorian aged care home

A 23-year-old man has denied raping a 90-year-old resident at Allity’s Tannoch Brae Aged Care in Geelong, 72km southwest of Melbourne, Victoria.

Shane Huici allegedly broke into the aged care home through an unlocked window before raping the resident as she slept in her bed in August last year. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, including rape, aggravated burglary, recklessly causing serious injury, common law assault and theft.

Huici has been committed to stand trial at the County Court of Victoria. He did not apply for bail and is remanded in custody until he faces a directions hearing at the County Court on 14 February.
