Village managers are leaving the sector, Jodie Prosser warns

Village managers are being enticed away from the sector by better conditions and higher pay, DCM Institute’s Jodie Prosser has warned.

Speaking at the 2022 LEADERS SUMMIT in Sydney last week, Ms Prosser told attendees that the high end of village manager salaries – around $130,000 – is the low end of salaries in other sectors such as hotels and mine sites.

“We’ve seen a great shift in village managers to hospitality, property, health, and even the mining services, not to mention the village managers that are going to aligned roles within our sector.

“Some are moving into home care, affordable housing, into new concierge services… but importantly, there are yet to come the CAPs and the build-to-rent products,” she said.
