As of 30 June 2016, around 78,956 home care packages had been allocated and were operational but only 64,069 packages were occupied, Australian Ageing Agenda reports.
Between July and December 2016, only 80% of ACATS were completed within 34 calendar days of a referral from myagedcare.
Overall, only two states – Western Australia and the ACT – were meeting their targets for “high priority” ACAT referrals, with the number of assessments falling significantly each year.
