The Allambie Heights Village wants to build 24 units across two two-storey buildings designed by Jackson Teece Architects on the 3.7ha site which it leases from the State Government.
The land adjoins the existing 55-unit William Charlton retirement village – which the Not For Profit took over in October 2016 – and would see 85 of 107 trees removed to make way for the units plus a 30-space underground car park and four-hole putting golf course.
The Village has had to make a variation request for the 8.65 metre development – the maximum building height for the area is eight metres – but their application maintains the new buildings are compatible with the local character of the area.
