$360M Buddhist Chinese development with aged care in Nowra (NSW) inching forward. WA next

1 min read

It has taken eight years but it looks increasingly likely that the Shaolin Foundation pilgrim retreat, serviced apartments and aged care facility in Nowra will proceed.

Shaolin is a Buddhist sect based in Fuyang a Chinese city of 10 million people. The original plan was to include a residential and golf course development but these have been scaled back due to resident protests.

Building the aged care experience is important to Shaolin who wish to take it back to Fuyang.
The annual pilgrim numbers are forecast at 250,000. Shaolin is also investigating a second site in Capel, 200Kl south of Perth.
