70% of BaptistCare’s $55M Canberra retirement village sold before April opening

BaptistCare’s new $55 million retirement village Yarra Rossa, which is on the site of the Not For Profit’s former Morling Lodge, the first aged care home in Canberra, is nearing completion.

70% of the 100 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments – a one-bedroom apartment starts from $445,000 – have already been sold. Richard Crookes Constructions started building at the Red Hill site in November 2019.

Yarra Rossa is unique in that it has a high percentage of single people. Traditionally, a new village would be around 85% couples and the remainder singles, but Yarra Rossa will have a resident population to be 40% singles to help create a community environment.
