ACT appoints first Senior Practitioner to cut down on ‘restrictive practices’

1 min read

A former forensic mental health nurse, Mandy Donley previously worked from 2007 for Victoria’s Senior Practitioner Office on disability issues. She will work with organisations across Canberra and the ACT community to provide education and raise awareness about how to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices.

Minister for Community Services and Social Inclusion, Rachel Stephen-Smith, says her appointment is an important step to make people’s rights are respected and upheld.

A clear sign that Governments are keen to avoid more ‘aged care scandals’ in the media and community.
