Baptcare’s Strathalan retirement living redevelopment complete

1 min read

Building of a new retirement living development with 37 apartments in Stage 2 has been completed at BaptCare’s Strathalan Community in Macleod, 14km north-east of Melbourne's CBD.

“We are currently developing 32 single-storey villas with over 80% of the villas already sold. The remaining 2-bedroom villas start from $930,000 and the remaining 3-bedroom villas start from $995,000,” said Eileen Morgan, BaptCare’s Marketing Business Partner - Retirement Living.

The integrated community has been designed by Billard Leece Partnership and is centred around the community centre, situated on the ground floor of the apartment building.

The heritage homestead, originally built in 1911, has been transformed into a wellness hub for visiting health practitioners, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and podiatrists. There is also a co-located aged care facility for residents who may need further care and support in future.

A communal vegetable garden, outdoor barbecue area and outdoor seniors exercise gym/playground will be built adjacent to the historic Strathalan Homestead as part of the project’s next phase, which will include an additional 32 villa units.

Strathalan was the first aged care home established by the Baptist Union of Victoria, as BaptCare was then known.
