Country Club Living unveil plan for Bendigo retirement village - its ninth

1 min read

Country Club Living, which operates eight Retirement Villages in Victoria and Queensland, has lodged plans to build 206 independent living units in a 17ha facility at Strathfieldsaye, a suburb 9km south-east of Bendigo CBD in Victoria.

"The Strathfieldsaye community is ageing, with a lack of local over 55-year-old residential offerings to enable residents to 'age in place'," the company said in its planning application to the City of Greater Bendigo.

Alongside the units, Country Club Living would build a nine-hole "pitch 'n putt" style golf course, a lawn bowling green and a privately managed road network. They would also build a community centre complete with residents' bar, dining room, kitchen, library, gym and indoor pool.

The company’s intention is to build the development in five stages.

Ballarat-based Country Club Living currently operate seven Country Clubs in Victoria and Noosa Domain on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
