Donald Trump tweets video from Florida retirement village showing supporter chanting ‘white power’ before deleting it

1 min read

The video appeared to have been taken at The Villages in Florida, the world’s largest retirement village with over 110,000 residents, where pro- and anti-Trump supporters have been holding demonstrations and showed a man driving a golf cart with pro-Trump signs and flags shouting ‘white power’.

The clip also showed the anti-Trump protesters shouting ‘Nazi’, ‘racist’ and a number of other epithets at the Trump supporters.

Trump tweeted the video, saying: “Thank you to the great people of The Villages” before appearing to delete the message three hours later.

A White House spokesperson released a statement saying that the President had not heard the racist slogan.

“President Trump is a big fan of The Villages. He did not hear the one statement made on the video. What he did see was tremendous enthusiasm from his many supporters,” it read.
