The 56-year-old woman has been charged with eight alleged counts of common assault between six men – aged 79, 80, 82, 86, 89, and 95 – and two women, aged 53 and 86 over eight months from February to October 2019 at an aged care facility at Ashfield in Sydney’s Inner West.
Police arrested the woman – who worked as a nurse at the facility for 10 years – at a home in Yagoona following an investigation in October 2019 after reports were made that residents at the facility had been assaulted.
The woman was refused bail and will now face court on 18 March. The aged care facility has since terminated her employment.
