As Yukana approaches its 100th anniversary, Chris shares the organisation's history, its Christian values, and how residents can transition from independent living to personalised care without leaving the community they call home.
Originally established to support retired missionaries, Yukana has grown into a thriving community with 81 independent living units and 83 care apartments. Unlike traditional retirement villages, Yukana integrates care from the very beginning. Residents are supported by the same dedicated team throughout their journey, with services ranging from everyday domestic assistance through to clinical care, memory support and palliative care.
