Foxtel to film a 10 part euthanasia series based in a QLD retirement village

1 min read

Titled The End, it commences filming next week in a QLD retirement village setting.

According to the SMH, the storyline is "about three generations of women with separate but intersecting obsessions – trying to figure out how to die with dignity, live with none and make it count."

An Australian/UK production between Foxtel, Sky UK and See Saw films who produced the King’s Speech and Lion, it will star Francis O'Connor (pictured) as the palliative care doctor who is "passionate in her opposition" to euthanasia, while Dame Harriet Walter is her English mother in a local retirement village, "just as passionate about her right to die".

It also stars Noni Hazlehurst, Robyn Nevin, Luke Arnold, John Waters and Alex Dimitriades.
