Gateway’s plan for its Hallidays Point (NSW) land lease communities faces local opposition

1 min read

Gateway plans to build 202 homes on the equivalent of 79 housing blocks adjacent to the Tallwoods golf and housing estate, a development that has been struggling for the past 10 years.

But it faces local opposition and goes to Council on Tuesday night. One side says council will lose out on the full rates potential of the site.

Supporters however are quoted in the Great Lakes Advocate “I would be welcoming the influx of 400 cashed up over 55s with the hope that they may save the failing golf course. We’ve seen Tallwoods prices steadily going backwards for years and this could be its saviour. Or we could oppose this and watch the golf course deteriorate into 18 unmaintained snake habitats –see how that effects your land and house values.”
