Ingenia revises DA for new Port Stephens development

1 min read

Ingenia has submitted an updated development application for its land lease community at Bobs Farm, Port Stephens, following concerns about its impact on koala habitats.

The project, modelled on Ingenia’s existing community Latitude One – which opened at Anna Bay in 2018 – has been scaled down from 171 to 119 homes, and now incorporates improved protections for koala habitats, as well as measures for traffic management, bushfire protection, stormwater management, and visual amenity.

The development is set to feature a clubhouse plus resort-style amenities, with a library, gym, bowling green, and cinema all planned, though the tennis court appears to have been scratched to preserve koala habitats; it will also be carbon-neutral, with initiatives including solar street lighting.

A Council meeting is planned for October 26, where the project will be discussed; should it receive the green light, staged construction is expected to begin next year.

Ingenia received approval to expand its existing site, Latitude One, to 440 homes in 2019.
