Lyndoch Living appoints interim CEO as Doreen Power takes leave after MP’s criticism

Not For Profit Lyndoch Living in Warrnambool, a city on the south-western coast of VIC, has appointed Jamie Brennan as Acting CEO, effective yesterday, to replace the experienced Doreen Power (above) who has taken leave after fierce criticism from an MP.

Lyndoch Living provides a diverse range of direct care and support services to more than 3, 500 people. It has retirement living and aged care services in Warrnambool and also offices in Warrnambool, Hamilton and Terang.

Doreen has been CEO of Lyndoch Living for seven years. Previously she was CEO of Plenty Valley Community Health for two years between 2012 and 2014, and CEO of Seymour Health from 2007 to 2014.

Lyndoch Living’s Board has refuted allegations by state Liberal MP Roma Britnell, made under parliamentary privilege, accusing the CEO of acting with “subterfuge and arrogance”.

The MP for South West Rocks told Victoria’s Legislative Assembly the board should remove her.

Doreen took leave and the board announced that Jamie (pictured) is taking over. He will be supported by additional South West Healthcare team members.

“It’s important we have stability, and Jamie’s appointment provides us with that. It will allow our staff to focus on what truly matters,”
Susan Cassidy, Board President for Lyndoch Living, said.
