New entrant plots huge $98 million village and aged care development for semi-rural Sydney

1 min read

Sydney property group Dedico and offshore group Insitex have lodged an application for a 72-bed aged care facility, 117 assisted living units across two- and three-storey buildings, 37 independent living units and 80 apartments in Dural, 36km northwest of the Sydney CBD.

They plan to carry out the development in five stages starting with the aged care facility, with the application to now go before the Joint Regional Planning Panel.

Hills councillor Robyn Preston told the Daily Tele that residents were not happy about the development and the semi-rural site was not a suitable location for seniors’ housing.

However DEDICO principal developer John Green said the development would have a “very low impact as it is not a high-rise development”.

Mr Green has been involved in property development for over 25 years, and has developed an array of residential, hotel, and commercial and retail projects in Sydney and Melbourne.
