Now ABC’s 7.30 Report is spotlighting ongoing retirement village fees after departure

1 min read

The program ‘named and shamed’ two more village operators in QLD and VIC in a story aired last Thursday that focused on the fees being paid by retirement village residents as they wait for their units to sell.

You can watch the program here. As you will see, there is no balance in the reporting.

It did however feature an interview with the Consumer Action Law Centre’s Katherine Temple.

The Centre, which is funded by the VIC Govt, also featured heavily in the Fairfax/Four Corners report in June – another sign that the media and political attention on retirement villages is being orchestrated and will not be going away anytime soon.
