NZ’s Arvida takes up Brisbane’s Five Good Friends to launch new village business model

1 min read

New Zealand’s fourth-largest retirement village operator, Arvida, has launched an outreach community from its Christchurch village, titled Arvida Good Friends at Park Lane.

It makes available the village community facilities for a $5 a week membership.

Arvida CEO, Bill McDonald, told the RVA New Zealand annual conference last week that the service launched four weeks ago and every week the number of new members has doubled. They have set a target of 5,000 to 6,000 members for the one village/outreach service.

Behind the offer is the Australian Five Good Friends operating system, providing a peer-to-peer home care service plus a low-cost pickup car service called Good Friends Go.
