Retirement village operator GenBridge wants to spend $30 million building another 81 independent living units in Pepperfield Lifestyle Resort Bowral, 2km east of the town of Bowral in the NSW Southern Highlands.

The Development Application wants to consolidate two lots to create an area of more than 12 hectares on which Pepperfield would create 81 two bedroom units in 45 buildings. In total, the development would create 162 bedrooms for retirees and cost an estimated $30.4 million.

There are 76 homes in Pepperfield Lifestyle Resort Bowral, with 11 more to be completed. The development is necessary “to meet current and future demand for high quality seniors living accommodation”.

A spokesman for Pepperfield said there is already a waitlist for retirees who want to move into the village.

“There is a high demand for the type of retirement living that Pepperfield offers,” he said.

“As soon as something becomes available, we have a buyer for it.”
