Key points
  • Strong debut: ReGen Living sells more than half of its first release
  • Premium community: 195-home Waurn Ponds resort to feature a $10M clubhouse
  • Growth pipeline: Second land lease community planned for South Australia
  • New player: Oliver Hume expands into the land lease sector

Just over a year after announcing its move into the land lease community sector, Oliver Hume is showing signs its strategy is paying off.

The property funds and real estate services business has seen seniors secure 13 homes as it opens its first community’s display suite of four house designs.

ReGen Living General Manager Ashley Duster told The Weekly SOURCE that there are 20 homes in Stage 1.

“We are really pleased with the feedback from the market. We have people from a broad mix of ages, broad mix of backgrounds – which is really pleasing – secure the first homes,” he said.

Surrounded by more than three hectares of public parklands, ReGen Living Warun Ponds, a southern suburb of Geelong, will feature:

  • 195 over-55s homes featuring two, two-and-a-half and three-bedroom homes with single or double garages;
  • A $10 million clubhouse including an indoor and outdoor pool, gymnasium, private cinema, his and her steam rooms, wine bar, billiards parlour, co-working space and private dining room;
  • A dedicated active sports precinct with tennis and pickleball courts, a golf simulator and a sports bar pavilion; and
  • A health and wellness space, and a workshop adjacent to an edible garden and greenhouse hub.

Victoria’s largest home builder, Sheridan Homes, has begun construction on the first four homes, with the first residents expected to move in this October.

“We started around the $600,000s to $630,000 and we are attracting the variety of clientele we expected. Most are from the area but we have had buyers from the north and south, some downsizing from a couple of acres of land,” Ashley added.

Work has begun on a $10 million clubhouse, dedicated active sports precinct with tennis and pickleball courts, a golf simulator and a sports bar pavilion, health and wellness space, and a workshop adjacent to an edible garden and greenhouse hub.

The clubhouse will include an indoor and outdoor pool, gymnasium, private cinema, his and her steam rooms, wine bar, billiards parlour, co-working space and private dining room.

ReGen Living also has a second land lease community planned for Aldinga on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, 45km south of Adelaide’s CBD. The site will feature 191 one-, two- and three-bedroom over-55s homes as part of a 45ha “super lot” of more than 800 homes being delivered by Villawood Properties and Renewal SA.
