RetireAustralia offers $5.5 million for planned 150 apartment retirement village at Gold Coast golf club

The NZ-owned operator is proposing three medium-rise buildings up to five storeys high and a wellness centre that would sit on the edge of the course at Burleigh Golf Club.

Over 220 club members attended a recent Special General Meeting, with 431 members or 91 percent voting in favour the project. RetireAustralia now plans to lodge the development application for the site with Gold Coast City Council this year.

RetireAustralia chief executive officer Alison Quinn says “Right now more than 2,400 people aged 65 years and over call Burleigh and Miami home, and it is projected these numbers will continue to rise over the coming years.”

RetireAustralia was acquired by Infratil and New Zealand Superannuation Fund in December 2014 and currently has 28 villages across New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.
