RetireAustralia unveils details of QLD Gold Coast Golf Club development

1 min read

Vertical retirement village The Verge at Burleigh GC, designed by O’Neill Architecture, will see the construction of 145 independent living apartments and 32 care suites for residents requiring a higher level of support within their homes.

The village will include a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments across three medium-rise buildings, and residents will have access to Burleigh Golf Club facilities.

As we reported here, the development will have little impact on the golf course itself, and the new facilities will be built on an under-utilised section of the course that takes up roughly 3.33 per cent of the total land.

Although there are more than 9,500 people aged over 65 are living within five kilometres of Burleigh Golf Club, there are currently less than 500 retirement dwellings in the area.

RetireAustralia Senior Development Manager, Judi Hutchison, said the project “filling a gap” in the community’s senior housing needs while also “providing the club and its members with a renewed confidence in their future.”

Expressions of interest have opened, and independent living apartments are priced from $540,000.
