The Not For Profit received the award at the (virtual) 2020 Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Wingate National Awards for Excellence for its integrated retirement living and aged care development ‘Carmelite’ in Myrtle Bank, 6km southeast of the Adelaide CBD.
The five-storey building – which was selected from five finalists – was commended by the judges for following an ‘Ageing in Place’ philosophy.
“The judges were particularly impressed by the apartment designs and spacious and well-furnished hallways and facilities,” UDIA National President, Simon Basheer, said.
