A new land lease development that will deliver 409 new homes has been given the green light by Bundaberg Regional Council.

Submitted by Stockwell Development Group Pty Ltd, the Material Change of Use for a relocatable home park on a 17-hectare site in Bargara was approved, just 5km from Stockwell’s Bargara Central shopping centre.

“The approval marks the next stage in the growth of Stockwell’s Solana portfolio, building on a consistent approach shaped by experience and an understanding of how the people of these communities live and connect,” the family company said in announcing the development approval in a statement.

“Across Queensland, each Solana location has been carefully considered for its natural beauty  and positioned alongside established retail and service hubs to respond to existing demand. This integrated approach brings together residential living and everyday convenience, creating places that are beautiful but also practical, connected and designed for long-term value.”

A Livewell Centre will be the centrepiece of the new community. The centre will house a hall, lounge and games area, craft room, library, media room, gym, bar and café, kitchen, indoor pool, amenities and outdoor dining spaces.

Additional outdoor facilities will include a pool, tennis court, bowling green, community garden and landscaped communal areas.

“The approved masterplan will offer a range of housing options for the over-50s, designed to suit different lifestyles. Flexible garage configurations, including dedicated RV space, respond to the needs of a market seeking both practicality and the ability to maintain an active, travel-oriented lifestyle,” added Stockwell.

Solana owns and operates four existing land lease communities in 1770-Agnes Water, Mackay, Hervey Bay and Bribie Island.
