The ABC again exposes neglect at Tinonee Gardens aged care home

1 min read

After earlier reporting on failings at the facility in Newcastle, the national broadcaster has run another lengthy piece documenting a case involving a resident with dementia.

The story also reveals four aged care facilities closed down in the last year after being sanctioned by the Australian Aged Care Quality Commission (AACQA) while 17 NSW homes were sanctioned including Tinonee which has since been re-accredited.

The piece also includes the disclaimer: Anyone who is concerned about the care being provided in an aged care service is urged to contact the Aged Care Complaints Commissioner. The Commissioner cannot comment on individual cases.

A reminder the ABC still has aged care firmly on its radar.
