TLC Healthcare moves into childcare with integrated aged care, childcare and primary care development

1 min read

After opening what it billed as Melbourne’s first dedicated high-rise aged care home, the private operator has announced it is developing Australia’s first integrated, intergenerational care facility in Mordialloc, 24km southeast of the Melbourne CBD.

Located opposite Woodlands Golf Course, the new development will incorporate an aged care home alongside a childcare centre, community medical centre, health club, swimming pool and café and is due for completion in 2022.

“Being able to drop your kids to childcare, visit your elderly relatives, workout at the gym and grab a coffee all at the same location sounds like most parents’ idea of heaven,” their press release states.

The move into childcare is a first for TLC, but CEO Lou Pascuzzi says it is a natural progression for the organisation.

TLC has already integrated community medical centres into its 10 of its 11 aged care homes in Melbourne and Geelong and is currently developing another integrated site in Ivanhoe East, 10km northeast of the Melbourne CBD which is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
