Uniting adds memory support unit to NSW South Coast aged care home

1 min read

The Not For Profit has expanded its Boronia aged care home in Gerringong, 48km south of Wollongong, with a 20-room memory support unit (pictured above) for people living with dementia.

Each room is designed with an ensuite and memory box while also being connected to the communal spaces like the kitchen and living room for residents to form their own ‘household’ with each other.

The redevelopment gives the Gerringong campus the capability to support up to 120 people in need of residential aged care and is part of Uniting’s strategy to develop a continuum of care between co-located retirement living, wellness services, assisted living, home care and residential care.

Uniting currently runs 72 aged care homes in 58 locations across NSW and the ACT.
