WA provider Bethanie unveils ‘campus-style’ co-located village

The state’s largest Not For Profit is building 62 apartments adjoining a two-storey 112-bed aged care home at Gwelup, 11km north of the Perth CBD.

Rohan Taylor, Chief of Property and Brand at Bethanie, tells us the ILU’s were designed to maximise the resident experience, rather than the number of apartments.

“In many instances, the apartments are considerably larger than a comparable residential apartment in the market,” he says. “We also wanted to ensure that the two mezzanine rooftop resident lounges captured the stunning views of the Reserve and the lake as did the apartments themselves.”

The two buildings, while separate, will run as one to offer residents a ‘continuum of care’.

The aged care facility will feature a dementia-specific wing on the ground floor, while Bethanie will also offer a range of services including home delivered meals, laundry and cleaning services and access to bundled TV/Wi-Fi/Foxtel/Phone services.

Bethanie currently has 12 villages and over 1,000 aged care beds across Perth and regional WA.
