Anglicare Sydney is now a national player
- Acquisition complete: Anglicare finalises Infinite Care purchase
- National scale: Combined group operates 46 aged care homes
- Four state presence: Group now spans NSW Queensland Victoria South Australia
- Growth platform: Combined provider targets future aged care expansion
The Christian operator has cemented its position as a leading for-purpose aged care provider, now with a presence in four states.
On Wednesday (1 July) Anglicare Sydney announced its acquisition of aged care operator Infinite Care had been completed, including Infinite Care’s recent acquisition of Autumn Aged Care.
Together, Anglicare Sydney, Infinite Care and Autumn Aged Care will operate 46 residential aged care homes, with approximately 5,300 beds and around 7,500 staff across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
Infinite Care will operate as a subsidiary of Anglicare Sydney, continuing under its existing brands for the foreseeable future.
Anglicare Sydney CEO Simon Miller said the completion marks an important strategic step in building scale and financial sustainability in a rapidly changing aged care sector.
“We are bringing together three organisations with a shared commitment to dignity, belonging and whole-of-person care,” he said.
“Bringing our organisations together creates the opportunity for a powerful platform to build on their strengths and deliver even greater care and choice to older Australians.”
Luke Greive, CEO of Infinite Care, said: “Joining with Anglicare Sydney strengthens our ability to deliver whole-of-person care, supporting residents clinically, emotionally and spiritually.”
Anglicare is not alone among large Not For Profit providers in pursuing growth through mergers and acquisitions. BaptistCare has also used the strategy, first merging BaptistCare NSW & ACT with BaptistCare WA in March 2023. Two years later, it merged with Baptcare and Baptist Care SA to create Australia’s third-largest integrated care and services provider.
