The Not For Profit is expanding its St Hedwig Village in Blacktown – just six months after taking ownership of the stand-alone retirement village and aged care home.

As we reported here, St Hedwig Village – established by the two German Catholic communities of St Raphael’s Blacktown and St Christophorus Croydon over 30 years ago – transferred ownership of its 132-bed aged care home, 48-unit retirement village and home care services in May this year.

The first stage of the new development includes 72 new retirement living units over four levels consisting of one studio apartment, 10 one-bedroom apartments, 35 two-bedroom apartments, and 26 three-bedroom apartments.

New integrated community amenities including activities and multifunctional rooms are also part of the development.

Construction of the Stage 1 development will start next month with a completion date of June 2022.
